Stop guessing what to charge. In seconds you get a fair price for your print, covering filament, electricity, machine wear, failed prints and your margin.
Markup is fixed at 1.8x here, and fees start at 10%; you can change the fees under advanced settings.
The questions every maker who sells prints has asked.
A fair price covers six costs: filament (part weight in grams times the spool price, divided by 1,000), electricity (printer wattage times print hours times your rate per kWh), printer depreciation (what you paid divided by its service life in hours, times the print hours), maintenance (nozzles, belts, lubrication, hotend), labor (your hands-on time on the job) and overhead. On top of that cost you apply a markup, and you account for marketplace and payment fees.
Start at 5% if you mostly print PLA on a well-tuned printer. Go to 10% for PETG, 15% for ABS or ASA, and 20% with a new filament or a printer that still needs tuning. The rate is added to the filament and electricity cost, because part of your prints will come out wrong and need a reprint.
It depends a lot on where you live. In the United States, residential rates are often between $0.12 and $0.30 per kWh, and in much of Europe they are higher. To find your real rate, divide the total on your power bill by the kWh you used that month.
Basic PLA usually costs around $15 to $25 per kg, and PETG is in a similar range. Engineering materials such as ASA, nylon or carbon fiber blends cost more. Prices change a lot between brands and countries, so type in what you actually paid for your spool.
Many sellers start at 2x to 3x their cost for small or custom parts. On marketplaces with a lot of competition, markups are often closer to 1.5x to 2x. Fees come out of the sale price, so this calculator adds them on top of the price to keep the margin you chose.
Divide what you paid for the printer by the number of hours you expect it to run. A $399 printer over 10,000 hours costs about $0.04 per hour; a $1,199 printer over 12,000 hours costs about $0.10 per hour. Multiply that by the print time of each job. Maintenance is counted separately.
It works with any FDM printer. Eight popular models come preconfigured: Creality Ender 3 V3, K1C, K1C + CFS, K2 Plus and Hi Combo, and Bambu Lab A1 Mini, A1 and X1 Carbon. If yours isn't on the list, pick the closest one and adjust the wattage and printer price under advanced settings.

Plataforma Stratta does all of that for people who sell 3D prints, but for now it is only available in Portuguese. Send us an email and we'll let you know when the English version is ready.
